This past weekend, something felt off. I spent the better of twelve hours sick to my stomach and when I called the doctor a second time, he told me to go see him at the hospital he was working in, where we’ll eventually deliver our baby.
Tim and I were nervous but we wanted answers. I hadn’t been able to hold any food or liquids down, and I had strong stomach pangs–those were scariest.
It turns out this mommy-to-be had a stomach flu/bug and was dehydrated but I (thank God) did not have contractions, which could be caused by dehydration. Thankfully, the baby was a-okay moving around with a strong heartbeat! That was our main concern, obviously. We got to see our baby again yesterday and it was just doing its healthy little thing. Phew!
If I wasn’t pregnant it is 99% likely I would not have called a doctor nor went to the hospital triage, both of which were firsts for me.
Our baby, though, means so much to us. He/she and his/her health are really our priority. We are so lucky to be on this journey and we love our little so much already.
P.S. THANK YOU to my husband for also being the best nurse. Your presence in my life makes everything so much easier.

Thankfully just stomach flu! I remember reading "Love You Forever" while I was pregnant and bawling my eyes out. It still gets me. After having a baby your hormones are never the same. 🙂
