This is the look a happily married couple who filed taxes as said married couple for the first time. 

That’s also how we feel about it being Friday. 
But that’s now how we feel about the weather outside. It’s technically the first day of spring … but it’s chilly and cloudy outside.  We want this 60-70 degree weather back, pleaseeee:

A Chirish Weekend

Happy St. Patty’s Day! My family was in this past weekend and it was the best ever. We already can’t wait to see each other for Easter. I’m lucky to have such a funny and loving family. 🍀

The weekend was a blast, especially because once again the Chicago River was dyed green. The weather was beautiful–the temperature actually went up to 73 degrees yesterday! If you haven’t been yet, I suggest you come see the Green River at least once. It’s been my favorite St. Patty’s tradition to date. 

Enjoying life … Now

In honor of International Women’s Day yesterday, I ran 10 miles. It was my first time at a distance over 6.4 miles. I was getting bored at mile 8.4 but I pushed through to finish at 91:49 running time, plus a break to fix my sock and a break to switch my knee brace from one knee to the other. Needless to say, I am hurting (the good kind) a bit today but proud of myself. Who runs the world? GIRLS!

And now I’m about to get serious. I was speaking with a co-worker a bit ago about kids and how they change your life. She told me to do it all now, because although life doesn’t end with kids (some might argue for them it truly begins), it dramatically changes. So…

Living in a building with a doorman overlooking the lake? We’re living there now.  
Traveling as often–and as far as we can? We’re doing it now. 
Not wanting to cook and going out for a “casual” sushi dinner that costs us more than a group meal somewhere else would? We’ve done it. 
You get the point. Tim and I want kids very much and in the near future. But we also want to enjoy our “us” time and establish ourselves enough to still be able to do things we like and provide for everything and more our kids will want. 
I know there is no “right” time for kids but for now–for the immediate foreseeable future, we’ll keep a time frame in mind and we’ll enjoy our life together.

The title of this post is a little deceiving. No, I am not going back to school. But I do have to study for some upcoming big, important exams. Yet again. Of course, it’s by choice and a part of me is dreading this choice but a part of me is also kind of excited to study again. This might make me sound like a total nerd but I sort of miss studying–because I love to learn. Sure, I’ll be studying material I already have but I’ve unfortunately forgotten most of it that does not pertain to my law practice area. …So, for better of worse, it might be like starting from scratch.
 
I now have to think about which books to buy and what prep courses to take. In this sense, I can relate to students who are indeed still in school. Books are expensive so I am considering just reusing some of my previous ones. If I could rent, I would. And if I could rent, I would rent from CampusBookRentals.
