Happy Fri-yay! Tim and I successfully surprised my cousin/MOH at an airport last night. Today, I am blogging from a secret location where we’ll be surprising my parents and other family members. Life is pretty great right now/ always…but especially now.
DIY(ish) Bride
Hi there, I’m finally getting around to posting about our wedding! Who says Wedding Wednesday has to end once you have your wedding? 😉
Planning from afar didn’t make DIY crafting easy. Thankfully, my mom and family helped out with putting favors (mason jar mugs, personalized coffee packets, cookies and bride and groom cake pops) together. I left decor to the pros.
The rest were small projects I wanted to do myself to feel a little more involved:
Drink Sign
Customized Bridesmaid Champagne Glasses and Cards
Wedding Programs
Social Media Sign
Escort Cards
Were you a DIY Bride?
Thank you, Vets
I’d be remiss today not to post about the reason behind this blog–the amazing veteran who is my very-soon-to-be HUSBAND. Who works so hard to be sure the finances, household, and we are doing well.
For 8 years, he put our country first–he belonged to the U.S. Navy. Now, I sometimes feel like he puts me first, which is a totally new feeling because his commitment to the Navy didn’t really allow for that.
It makes me so happy to see him thriving in school, excited to be learning, and living a truly independent life. And yet, he and we owe all that’s been possible to the beautiful U.S. Navy. It made T a man–and a responsible one at that. And it’s afforded us opportunities,we would probably never have had in our 20s.
So, to T and to all those men and women who’ve sacrificed and dedicated any part of their lives to our great country and military– I thank you.
Our First Thanksgiving
A Very Marry November
“October extinguished itself in a rush of howling winds and driving rain and November arrived, cold as frozen iron, with hard frosts every morning and icy drafts that bit at exposed hands and faces.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I’m not a Harry Potter fan but that quote is actually what happened this past weekend. Halloween consisted of snow/hail, high winds and low temperatures. It was so much fun dressing up in a scary costume, though. Tim did a great job with my makeup and people were scared of us. Success!
November 1st was cold, as well, but we enjoyed some brunch, city time and hanging out with Tim’s brother, who was here for the weekend.
Speaking of November, I’ve always loved it. Because Thanksgiving. Because Black Friday. Because CHRISTMASTIME.
But this November is the most special. It is our WEDDING MONTH. Our one year engagiversary was yesterday and there are LESS than two weeks until our big day. Talk about excitement!
