The weekend is around the corner so it got me to thinking about why we’re always looking forward to those days. By doing so we are wishing precious days away. I decided I had to stop doing this. ASAP. And then I came across Ashley‘s and Lauren‘s posts having to do with this so I decided to chime in about what I actually look forward to DURING the week:
Daytime with Timmy
Me Time
Catching up with Family and Friends
…So there you have it – that’s what keeps me going during the week. My week is much more relaxed now that I have time off between school and work, so I get looking forward to a relaxing weekend after a work week… but here’s to hoping you all follow suit and enjoy your everydays. It really is a beautiful thing.

Hey there! I hope you all had a great long weekend. Ours was awesome. As the title of this post suggests, Tim and I encountered lots of dried lava during our weekend trip to the Big Island AKA the Island of Hawaii, from beaches to our dinner view to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It was a great place for us to visit since we love adventurous activities and beach time. Oh, and the Kona International Airport is the most adorable and relaxed international airport I’ve ever been to!
I think we also fell more in love with each other and Hawaii after this weekend. Tim and I kept saying how lucky we were to be able to make such wonderful memories together at places featured in must-see books. This is the definite upside to him being stationed in Hawaii because we’d already done most of what there was to do around where he used to be stationed in Virginia. I’ll let photos do the rest of the talking about the amazing trip:
We ended our 4-day weekend with some poolside time in Waikiki (photo above), Buffalo Wild Wings with Tim’s workshop, and then sadly at a prayer ceremony for his higher up’s newborn baby who passed away. It definitely makes me appreciate life and my time with loved ones all the more, and trust that everything happens according to God’s plans.

For me, travel rewards some of my most amazing life experiences. I’m a firm believer that travel is good for the soul.
Or 25, in my case … or any mature age, in my opinion …
