I Confess
2) I confess I fell off the wagon. I am a chocoholic. I had a “cheat day.” I’d been craving all the chocolate in the world since starting the paleo diet … so I caved. I had an organic/gluten-free/vegan dark choc brownie bar …but also some pieces of a Kit Kat… and mac n cheese (one Saturday, one Sunday & one Monday). In addition to these snacks, I’ve had some chocolate (85% cocoa). I kinda feel like a cheat and failure but these are the only non-paleo foods I’ve had in 9 days so I’m not beating myself up over it. I also need to be realistic – I’m trying, and I’m not generally an unhealthy eater. I was also advised a cheat day could help so I am going to keep my weekends relatively paleo-free to make my weekdays easier because I would like to adopt this eating style or a variation of it long-term.
No, I didn’t eat a Musketeer but I wasn’t kidding when I said I L O V E chocolate. Even Facebook knows it…
3) I confess that I have newfound love for stationary.
Isn’t this just the cutest stationary card ever???
4) I confess that I can be too critical of myself sometimes, which is why I love this video. If you haven’t watched this by now, I think you ought to.
Contrary to popular belief, she is not my sister, and she had me at almost 30-years-old, so you do the math. I hope I look as good as her when I’m her age.
“When we weren’t scratching each other’s eyes out,
I am always thankful for my momma. My biggest fan. My biggest critic. My best friend.
She sacrificed her blooming career, and much more, to stay home to raise me and my little brother. She KICKED cancer’s sorry ass when I was four. She waited until I left for the airport my sophomore year of college to be admitted for a mysterious blood infection, which she fought and WON …so that I wouldn’t worry and stay behind and miss out on my Acapulco spring break. I still can’t believe she did that but then again I completely can because she’s always put me and my brother first. She is a warrior and she is my hero, even though she sometimes doesn’t know it. She thinks because my dad was out there actually being a literal hero as a NYPD officer and detective that he is my bigger or only hero. Not true – they’re equally important to me. I know strength and compassion and selflessness because of her. I don’t know who I’d be if I wasn’t blessed with her as my kickass mom.
