It’s hard to believe my favorite holiday is this weekend! I still have all of our presents to wrap and some stocking stuffers to buy … but I am excited to experience the magic of Christmas with my little family in our new home. We have surprises in store for S and I am excited to see his reaction. 
Merry Christmas, from us to you. I hope you spend the holiday weekend surrounded by loved ones and great food, making wonderful memories to last you for years to come.

The Feelings of Christmas Week

It’s Christmas Week! How and when this happened is beyond me … it feels like just yesterday it was October and we started our house hunt and now he we are settled (for the most part) into our home for Christmastime. 


Speaking of Christmastime, I am feeling lots of feelings this year:

Excited because it’s my favorite holiday 
– I get to experience the magic of the holiday as a mom and I’m thinking this year will be even better than last since S can open presents, communicates and expresses his emotions so much more. 

Sad because I want it to last longer (lol)
– Why is Christmastime only a few weeks long? But also, we were so busy up until a couple of weeks ago that I feel like we didn’t really get into the spirit until last week. 

Nervous because how am I going to get everything I have to do done before then?!
– I have so many presents to wrap, presents to still buy, a house to clean and prepare for a weekend of hosting and somehow, sometime also want to relax just a little bit and soak it all in. So much to do, so little time–that saying applies to my life quite often. 

But mostly I am excited and ready to kick off this week on a good note – stay tuned for a fun giveaway that I’m launching on my Instagram tonight and will post about on here tomorrow! 

5 on Friday: Christmastime 2017

1. This door mat was one of my first purchases for our new home. I love that it’s in Spanish and that it’s colorful… two of my favorite things. I’m counting all of our home decor purchases as Christmas presents 😉

2. It snowed twice this past week… and I actually enjoyed it.

3. We started decorating our Christmas tree this week and it gave me all the warm festive feels.

4. We are hosting Christmas Day and I am so excited!

5. This season is so full of love and gratitude. I don’t think a day has gone by recently where my husband and I are not counting our lucky stars/ blessings.

How to Make a Diaper Bassinet

Last winter, one of my girlfriends had her baby shower for her baby girl on the way. The  theme was Winter Wonderland, which was fitting because it snowed the day of, just as it is snowing today. 

My friends and I always do individual gifts + a group gift for special occasions and events. Our friend mentioned really wanting a diaper cake so I decided to make one–with a spin. Today, I’m sharing how I made a diaper bassinet. 

Supplies:
  • 1 big box for the bed (I used a Pampers box)
  • 1 smaller or cut box for the awning
  • Tape ( I used 2″ clear sealing tape)
  • Rubber bands
  • Ribbon
  • Decor
  • Diapers (I used about 120) 
  • Diaper changing supplies for inside the bassinet (we bought wipes, a wipe warmer, and diaper creams)
Directions:
  1. Tape the smaller/ cut box to the bigger box to secure them together.
  2. Place the baby items inside the bassinet.
  3. Roll up a diaper and rubber band it so it stays rolled.
  4. Repeat previous step for each diaper.
  5. Roll pieces of tape so they are two-sided and place two pieces onto each diaper.
  6. Tape the diapers around the boxes, completely covering the boxes.
  7. Cut and decorate with ribbon. If you place it on each row, it can help keep the diapers in place.
  8. Tape other decor you have wheresoever you’d like.
  9. You’re done!
