Holiday Fun with PJ Masks

We are well into December so the holiday season is upon us! It has been Christmastime at our home since last month but we have really gotten into the holiday spirit recently. That includes getting the kids excited for Santa to visit.

One way we do this is by asking what toys they would like on their “Wish List” for Santa. Our older son now understands what this means … though he wants practically everything on his list. Our younger son is still in the stage where even Christmas tree ornaments make for fun toys.

Though the boys are in different stages, they both love PJ Masks! In fact, we are getting ready for holiday shopping for the boys with a little help from PJ Masks’ Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko.

Christmas Photos 2018 — Sneak Peek + the Phrase I Used to Get my Toddler Excited for Photos

This year, we were fortunate to have our Christmas photos taken by my sister-in-law Ashley Bellis Photography. When she reached out about including the boys in her Christmas minis ad, I was ecstatic! The shoot went much better than I anticipated. It was pretty cold for the time of year on the day we took them but both boys cooperated so well.

R had been in and out of naps, which you can kind of tell due to his mug, but he’s flashing his gummy smile in a lot of the photos, too. S wanted to run around with his cousin but I told him “We’re taking pictures for Santa!” so that got him more excited for the photos.

It’s becoming our little tradition to take photos for our Christmas card each year and I’m enjoying it. It gives us Christmas card material but also a way of documenting that time in our lives. Here are our Fall 2017 family photos.

The Feelings of Christmas Week

It’s Christmas Week! How and when this happened is beyond me … it feels like just yesterday it was October and we started our house hunt and now he we are settled (for the most part) into our home for Christmastime. 


Speaking of Christmastime, I am feeling lots of feelings this year:

Excited because it’s my favorite holiday 
– I get to experience the magic of the holiday as a mom and I’m thinking this year will be even better than last since S can open presents, communicates and expresses his emotions so much more. 

Sad because I want it to last longer (lol)
– Why is Christmastime only a few weeks long? But also, we were so busy up until a couple of weeks ago that I feel like we didn’t really get into the spirit until last week. 

Nervous because how am I going to get everything I have to do done before then?!
– I have so many presents to wrap, presents to still buy, a house to clean and prepare for a weekend of hosting and somehow, sometime also want to relax just a little bit and soak it all in. So much to do, so little time–that saying applies to my life quite often. 

But mostly I am excited and ready to kick off this week on a good note – stay tuned for a fun giveaway that I’m launching on my Instagram tonight and will post about on here tomorrow!
