Wednesday Wedding — Engagement Photos

Since I’m a woman of my word, today I am sharing with you some of our engagement photos. But first, let me tel you about our shoot. 
Since we will be married near my hometown of NYC, I wanted to incorporate Tim’s hometown in our wedding activities. I figured, what better way than to have it showcased in our engagement photo shoot??! 
We wandered through downtown Detroit during the morning til about noon — no it wasn’t scary. It was actually a lot of fun and the city provided for some great rustic and urban scenery. Our photographer, Jen from J. Lynn Photography was so much fun to work with –and we might even hang out next time we’re in town! 
Oh and our save the date photo is not pictured — don’t want to ruin the surprise for you readers;)

Wedding Colors

So I am back to work today for the first time this week due to the Polar Vortex. See: -15 degrees on Monday and -6 (actual temperatures) on Tuesday.
 
And I am back to Wedding Wednesday posting. This WW, my first of the year, I’m talking color. 
 
When choosing our wedding color palette, Tim and I chose to focus on the color of fuschia orchids. There will also be lots of gold, and possibly other flowers. As for orchids, they were the very first flowers Tim gave me.

They also happen to be my FAVORITE flowers. And they symbolize love, luxury, beauty and strength — everything our relationship has stood for and what we hope our wedding and marriage will embody, as well. 
 
My gorgeous girls will probably be decked in gold — the venue is full of gold, and the color exudes classiness and will allow for the orchids to pop. Finding the perfect gold shade has been a challenge — but I’m always up for a challenge!

‘Twas the Last Weekend of 2013

I can’t even believe the title is true. Where has the year gone?! As sad as I am to see the year coming to an end, though, I am excited for all that 2014 will bring. But til then, here’s a recap of this past great weekend. 

Timmy and I roadtripped to Michigan to surprise his family. They were so happy to see him (&me, too lol) and that makes me happy.

While there we took engagement photos! We went to about 10 different locations (our photographer was amazing!!) in downtown Detroit and each was great — I’m so excited to see the shots!! Think urban meets rustic meets elegant. I’ll obviously share some when I receive them in ~3 weeks.

Exciting Wedding Updates

I’ve been a bad blogger lately… my apologies. (In blog news, I think I am making blog password protected from non-followers after the new year… just a heads up to any non-follower readers!)
But I’m back to update you all on exciting wedding news.
We have booked our venue and are pretty much set on our photographer,
 videographer, whose highlight videos had me in {happy} tears,
and HONEYMOON!
We will be headed to Bora Bora and our hotel is already booked 🙂

A Wedding Planning Weekend

This weekend was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
 
 I was home for Thanksgiving;
 
I said “Yes!” to the Dress {with some happy tears mixed in};
 
 I asked my bridesmaids to be in my bridal party;
 
 and Tim and I decided on a venue!
 
Since you’ll have to wait for the special day for most of the details, I will only leave you with my bridesmaids invites 😉
 

  

 

 That’s a key chain 🙂 I also made my MOH a photo book of us.

 
 Inside each of the older girls’ boxes (two of the bridesmaids are my younger cousins) were also Thank You cards, in which I thanked them each for special aspects of each of our friendships. I planned on putting photos to pop up when the boxes were opened, but they arrived late so only two received the photos. 
 
I am so excited to have my family and childhood friends (I’ve known my non-family bridesmaids for 14 and 19 years!!) in our wedding party. They are all so excited too, which makes me incredibly happy.
