Old, New, Borrowed & Blue

Our wedding was pretty traditional. As in we waited to see one another at the church and included the “something” traditions. 

Something Old: 
I wore a Stella & Dot bracelet I ordered on the same night I received my job offer call from Chicago. Tim and I often say that moving here was the best decision at this time so the bracelet symbolizes that.
 
Something New:
  I’m obsessed with this one–my Allure Couture gown. It was lace with Swarovski crystals all over. My veils (one front and one cathedral) also had Swarovski crystals all throughout.
 

Something Borrowed:
My momma’s diamond tennis bracelet and diamond dangle earrings. She loves her some diamonds so I knew I could count on her for some bling. Plus, I obviously wanted something of hers to walk down the aisle with as my dad escorted me. 
 
Something Blue:
Tim’s name tape. The Navy played a HUGE part in our long distance relationship so this seemed very fitting. My mom sewed it into the bottom of my dress the night before the wedding, bless her heart for all she does for me. 
 

A Very {Just} Married Christmastime

In lieu of a traditional wedding shower wishing well and because I absolutely love Christmas, my creative MOH and her mom thought to have guests being in a Christmas ornament for the well. As a result, this holiday time is filled with Just Married decor–and I don’t hate it;)

Heading to our building’s fancy little dinner and wine party at a neighborhood Gold Coast restaurant. Yeah, our building rocks. 

A glimpse into our newlywed ornaments. This end of year has been the best yet. Kind of sad that it’s coming to an end but I’m sure 2015 will be even better. 

The Decor & Details

We finally received a preview from our photographer but I’m keeping it a secret because it’s making its grand debut via our thank you holiday cards 🙂 

Until then, here are some photos of the decor at our rehearsal dinner and wedding:
{The map hearts I made represented significant places: where we met, fell in love, lived, etc. The burlap banner was a present from one of my bridesmaids. The instagram sign was made by me. I placed my bridesmaids presents (Kate Spade knotical bracelets and matching floral robes in MOH and bridesmaid totes) in the basket that was a present from the same bridesmaid who gave us the banner.}

{Our welcome presents were custom door hangers made by Contagious Events hung around wine bottles enclosed in a wine bag.}

{You can’t really see but there is a white flower arrangement on the altar. The lanterns along the aisle were reused from our wedding shower centerpieces. We added bows. My amazing family members decorated for us.}


{I might be biased but I absolutely loved our reception decor. Fortunately our florist and venue decorated for us … And that beautiful custom wood sign was a present from another one of my bridesmaids. We seriously have the best loved ones.}

DIY(ish) Bride

Hi there, I’m finally getting around to posting about our wedding! Who says Wedding Wednesday has to end once you have your wedding? 😉
Planning from afar didn’t make DIY crafting easy. Thankfully, my mom and family helped out with putting favors (mason jar mugs, personalized coffee packets, cookies and bride and groom cake pops) together. I left decor to the pros.
The rest were small projects I wanted to do myself to feel a little more involved:
